LandCap is a residential-land company run by Jeffrey Gault. The loans, which have a book value of $75 million to $80 million, were made to home developers and are collateralized by housing lots, the newspaper said. The loans are part of a pool of $350 million of such loans the bank put up for sale earlier in the year, the newspaper reported. But they are just a tiny fraction of Wachovia's $24 billion in construction and land loans, of which 9.4% were delinquent in the second quarter, the report added.
